East Herts Woodturning Club event Sat 10th July

Just a quick note to congratulate the East Herts Woodturning Club on a fantastic event yesterday.

East Herts had a marquee at the Gilwell24 event which is a Scouts event for senior scouts (14-18), and were promoting woodturning and the new AWGB/Scouts woodturning initiative by providing demonstrations and short taster sessions under strict supervision and instruction. There were in excess of 2,500 scouts at the event, and the booking forms for taster sessions didn't have a space on them all day.

Mike Rothwell managed the event and he and his team of cheerful club members did a staggering job in terrible heat and humidity.

So a huge thank you and "well done" from me.
